Little Women 25 Years Ago

When I was still little, my Uncle gave me the most beautifully illustrated copy of Little Women and I’ve treasured it throughout the years. Little Women became my favorite book (and later my favorite movie). More than a few times through quarantine, I’ve felt like one of the March sisters, at home, finding new ways to be creative with the things we already have. So a couple of days ago, I picked it up off the shelf thinking maybe it was time for a re-read when I noticed the date on the inscription:

Isn’t that wild?! Twenty five years ago TODAY, my Uncle was writing out a timeless gift that would shape so much of my heart. It reads:

For Denise. I hope you enjoy the world Ms. Alcott has written about. It’s full of peace and harmony in a world all of us has the ability to create for ourselves our family and friends. All the characters in this book are like old friends. Enjoy with much love Uncle Mike 4-15-1995

Feeling more grateful by the day for my beautiful family and dreaming of getting to hug the heck out of them when this is all over!
