This shoot was the second time I had photographed Erin, and for me, this shoot really clicked right from the beginning. We set out to create a set of headshots that felt both elevated and grounded, as well as true to the kind of work she does. As a career and executive coach, Erin holds space for people in moments of transition. For the in-between seasons where everything is shifting, so it was important that her images reflect that same sense of calm, confidence, and clarity.
Her wardrobe was one of my favorite parts of this shoot. Everything felt cohesive without being repetitive. All the pieces worked together across looks. Even her more casual outfits felt dialed in. Nothing felt like an afterthought, which made it so easy to build a gallery that flowed naturally from image to image.
Another part of this session that gave me the space to really love these images was the trust Erin brought to the session. She came in with no pressure to recreate something she’d seem someplace else, just a willingness to collaborate and let the shoot unfold, and I think that kind of trust makes a difference because it allows me to see more of what’s in front of me.
