How to Block Yourself From Google Analytics

A few months ago, I spent a solid two weeks doing a website redesign and girl, my Google Analytics Stats had never been higher!! I was bringing in the traffic! Unfortunately, the clicks that were being counted were my own as I was refreshing my site every hour to check out the new changes that had just been published.

So I did some research and I found an awesome browser extension that allows you to block your own traffic to your site so that you can get more accurate site statistics! Simply download the extension here and click the icon in the upper right hand corner of your browser and click options. Then add your site (BOTH with and without www) to the list! Easy peasy!

Enjoy this little tech tidbit, from me to you as well as three tips on increasing your website traffic:

  1. Make your website fun! It wasn’t until I let go of pressure and expectations that my whole website and business experience started becoming fun. You can read more on this here!
  2. Start taking little steps to boost your SEO. As part of my 100 in 100 series, I shared several tips on SEO that I had learned after nine years of working at a website hosting company! Read that post here!
  3. P.T. Barnum’s quote, “Without promotion, something terrible happens… nothing,” is a total truth bomb! Here are five things you should be doing after you blog!

Thanks for being here and if you have a second, leave me a comment (OR find and send me a secret message on my home page!) letting me know what new posts or subjects you’d like to see from me!
