When people ask me “What kind of photographer are you?” I answer “Weddings.” But the truth is, I photograph people. My main passion and focus is in weddings but throughout the year, I take on many projects from local artists, to illustrate their passion, and I photograph families who have grown since their wedding day. I photograph people and relationships. To end 2015, I’ve put together a small collection of some of my favorite images from all genres of photography I engaged in this year. To begin, here are some favorites from 2015 weddings and engagements.
Another genre of photography that I love is Headshots. They can be traditional in studio portraits or in-action lifestyle portraits. While my passion is in photography, I’ve been fortunate this year to get to know people who have a passion for event design, music, fashion, and beauty and who are all incredible, passionate artists.
Family photography is where I started. Having lost all my childhood photos when I was younger, I have a passion for giving children photos of them and their parents to have as they grow older. I take these photos with the mindset of “I’d love to have an image like this of me and my mother.” It is such a gift to be able to spend time like this with families, making sure fleeting moments like this aren’t lost or forgotten.
Thanks, 2015 and all those who were in it for being such a fantastic year. Happy New year, friends!!
Hey. Do you mind if I tell you a story? One you might not have heard. All the elements in your body were forged many many millions of years ago in the heart of a faraway star that exploded and died. That explosion scattered those elements across the desolations of deep space. After so, so many millions of years, these elements came together to form new stars and new planets. And on and on it went. The elements came together and burst apart, forming shoes and ships and sealing wax and cabbages and kings. Until, eventually, they came together to make you. You are unique in the universe. There is only one of you. And there will never be another.
