Andrea and Josh Get Married!

In the little town of Cottonwood, Arizona, we walked into a sweet little boutique salon to find Andrea sipping mermosas and thinking about her groom to be. The day was lovely and sunny and perfect for a wedding. Andrea and Josh chose to do a first look session before the ceremony. The extra time for portraits and to spend time with each other on their day is the reason I love doing the couples formal portraits before the ceremony. Once we got to the ceremony site, we were blown away. The white chairs were aligned so sweetly on a bed of green grass against a backdrop of the spectacular Sedona mountains and the vibrant bluw sky. As the bride walked down the aisle to marry the man of her dreams, they had eyes only for each other. The rest of the day was filled with celebration, laughter and dancing. Congratulations to the happy couple on their new lives together!

5×5

I saw a pin on Pinterest that caught my attention. They were square prints in black and white with a little white border. They reminded me of some prints my grandmother has scattered throughout albums and random boxes. I ordered some in wedding images with the intention of stringing them along a twine length attached by little clothespins. Maybe I’m too addicted to Pinterest. And maybe that’s not a bad thing. ;)

James and Kelsie Get Married!

The sun dipped in and out of the clouds making everyone guess if there would be rain for the ceremony. During the nice weather months in Arizona, you never know if it’s going to be the best weather ever or if a storm will come out of no where. Luckily, the weather turned out to be beautiful, just for Kelsie and James to say “I do.”

Darren and Souny Get Married!

I didn’t know what to pack, what to wear, how to prepare. After all, I’d never been to a traditional Lao wedding, have you? So I brought everything. It’s a good thing too because the wedding started outside in the morning sun and ended that night in a low lit reception hall.

Keira and Miguel Get Married

“Are you nervous?!” I asked Keria during our five minute pre-ceremony bridal portrait session. Her face breaks out into a huge grin and she says “No.” No. Of course not. Since I’ve known Keira, she has been the most confident person imaginable and last month, the was a confident, and stunning bride.  Driving to the ceremony, I couldn’t help but think “I can’t wait to see what her dress /hair/jewelry is like.” Keira is so fashionable, there was no way she wasn’t going to look perfectly classy, and she didn’t disappoint. As Keira and Miguel joined together in marriage, they only had eyes for each other. Nothing beats an adorably smitten groom and an absolutely lovely bride.

Darren and Souny are Engaged

Darren and Souny are getting married next month and I couldn’t be happier for them! We drove into the Superstition Mountains this weekend and found ourselves at Tortilla Flat. Since their wedding day is going to be so busy, they adorned their wedding attire and we did their formal portraits along with their engagement photos.

Morgan and Robert Get Married

About six months ago, I asked Robert, “On a scale of one to ten, how bad to you want to marry Morgan?” He replied “Eleven.” The more I get to know Morgan, the more I know why. She is full of grace and kindness. She smiles always and loves Robert so completely. So when the Officiant asked the audience to collectively give Morgan to Robert, I didn’t hesitate to say “We do” along with their family and friends.

Keslie’s Bridal Shower

I believe it is impossible to have a bad day when you go to a Bridal Shower. (Except my first bridal shower when I was three. They did the gift exchange game and I cried when someone took my gift.) Kelsie’s shower was yesterday and what a beautiful afternoon we had! In Arizona, the summer edge is fading and we all gathered in Kelsie’s mothers beautiful backyard for food, conversation, gifts, and celebration. An Ombre style three tier cake adorned with purple flowers was created by the Maid of Honor, Chelsea.

Russ and Bonnie

I smacked the groom in the face. EVERYONE, I SMACKED THE GROOM IN THE FACE. As far as embarrassing moments while shooting, that has to be up there. This is the importance of an engagement session, he loved me so much by the time I smacked him that he didn’t really (seem to) care much. Of course it was a total accident. He was sitting, I was standing. I was directing (with my hands) and he was just in the wrong place at the wrong time. Poor guy.
